IRISH YOUTH BASEBALL GROWING EVERYDAY
The photo at right shows the newly formed Ballyheane Braves Baseball Club. The Braves are located just outside of Castlebar, Co Mayo. Baseball Ireland is tremendously grateful for the gift of a starter pack of equipment from Pitch in for Baseball and MLB International which has seen the team go from strength to strength.
We'd like to sincerely thank MLB and Pitch in for Baseball for their donations and support of Irish Baseball.

2009 WORLD BASEBALL CUP PLANS LAUNCHED
The International Baseball Federation (IBAF), in conjunction with the City of Haarlem (NED) and Haarlem Baseball Week, has recently presented its plan for the 2009 Baseball World Cup, which is to be held across Europe in September 2009.
The press conference featured IBAF representatives Riccardo Fraccari (European Continental Vice President), Martin Miller (2nd Vice President) and John Ostermeyer (Secretary General), and the mayor of
the City of Haarlem opened the event while Ruud Van Zetten (President of the Baseball Federation in Netherlands) was the master of ceremonies.
The 2009 Baseball World Cup is scheduled for September 9-27, 2009, with the final to be held in Rome, Italy.
